The HD version is slightly wider and taller, and uses a harder compound than the SL model. For tires with widths from 2.35 to 2.80 inches.

With TUBOLIGHT EVO, the material is precisely where it needs to be, above and outside the rim bead. Although the new shape is flatter, the portion above the rim edge is increased by 30% to 60% depending on the rim width, and combined with the harder compound, rim strikes are drastically reduced. During an impact, some of the air molecules in the tire move from the outer part of the insert into the channel, causing a pressure difference. Because the insert is very tight against the edge, these molecules get trapped, and it takes a fraction of a second longer to restore uniform pressure between the outer and inner parts. This means that rolling resistance and tire rebound are reduced. The result of these two properties is what every rider seeks: EFFICIENCY. Note: when using standard valves, air release is slightly slower due to the pressure difference between the two parts of the air volume.
