Hiking & Adventure Meals
Adventure Food is the ideal choice for trips, treks, hikes, adventure events, etc., where cooking facilities are limited. To prepare these meals, all you need is water and equipment to heat it. Thanks to freeze-drying, the amount of food you carry becomes significantly smaller and lighter, leaving more space in your backpack and saving the carrier's energy.
Food Freeze-Drying
This technology originated from NASA when long-term space missions were planned, raising the question of how to carry food for astronauts. Research led to freeze-dried food. This technology is now widely used in everyday life, focusing on small meals or instant foods.
In the freeze-drying process, food is first prepared, then quickly frozen, and finally, the ice crystals (water) formed during freezing are slowly removed by heating in a vacuum. The final product retains 98% of its nutritional value and weighs only 20% of its original weight.
Freeze-Dried Food Retains
- Appearance Freeze-dried foods retain their original shape and structure. To prepare, simply add water, and in a few minutes, the food regains its original properties.
- Taste Freeze-dried food tastes just as good as fresh. Freeze-drying removes water, not flavor. Thus, freeze-dried food practically retains the taste, vitamins, and nutrient content of fresh food.
- Weight Freeze-dried food weighs many times less than fresh food. Freeze-drying removes 98% of the water content. This significantly reduces the food's weight, makes it easier to handle, and lowers transportation costs.
- Long Shelf Life Freeze-dried food can be stored for months or years at room temperature without fear of spoilage. This reduces storage costs as no specific temperature-controlled environment is needed.
