Cube Aerium C:68X SLT Aero

The ultimate wind-cheater with added aero tech, so you can convert more watts into forward motion

Developed in close collaboration with CUBE athlete and World champion Lucy Charles-Barclay, the Aerium C:68X can rightly claim its title as the fastest frame we've ever made. Every detail, from the aero fork design, disc brake integration and in-frame hydration and storage systems has been designed with zero compromise, tested in the wind tunnel and then tested again under pressure, in race conditions. Lucy has full confidence in the frame and its configurable storage and hydration and now you can, too.

The biggest obstacle to going faster isn't you, it's air. Which is why, for the Aerium C:68X SLT Aero, we took a close look at our medal-winning race bike and fitted it with components that are to air what a hot knife is to butter. Profile Design ASC Pro extensions combined with our CUBE cockpit help put you in the most efficient aero tuck possible. And the Newmen Streem Aero/Disc TT80/Disc Vonoa wheelset – clad with Schwalbe Pro One Aero tyres – features a carbon disc rear to complement the deep-section front wheel. Sram S-900 Aero brakes are the finishing wind-cheating touch. Put it all together, and it means that more of your output will go into forward propulsion, transferred to the road via Sram's Red AXS 1x12 gears with a Ceramicspeed waxed Red chain and a Sram Red crank with built-in power meter. It's quick. You will be, too.

  • C:68X CARBON FIBER TECHNOLOGY - Combining all our expertise from carbon frame building into the ultimate material, C:68X® carbon uses the optimum blend of fibre and nano particle-infused resin. Precision Advanced Twin Mold manufacturing means we can avoid bonded sleeves or inserts, too. It's the new benchmark for light, stiff and strong.
  • FRONT DERAILLEUR COVER PLATE - Set up your Aerium C:68X gears the way you like: as it's supplied, with a 2X system and front derailleur for the widest possible range of ratios, or switch to 1X for simplicity, low weight and optimum aero with the front derailleur mount neatly hidden behind its cover plate.
  • FULL INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING - Full Internal Cable Routing takes the clutter of external cables and consigns it to the past. We started from scratch, designing frame and handlebars to accept gear and brake cables internally so that nothing interrupts the bike's clean lines. It's neater, it's more aero, it protects cables from damage and it reduces maintenance. All the wins.
  • COCKPIT SYSTEM - The CUBE Aerium Cockpit System is about as configurable as it gets. The standard setup is Low, but there's an optional High setup too. With a wide range of adjustment for each, every rider can find their optimum position for comfort, endurance and performance. Armpads can be set over a huge range of widths and stack heights and saddle stack and reach is, of course, also adjustable. Because every watt counts…
  • HYDRATION SYSTEM 2.0 - Ultimate performance requires optimum hydration, and that means having a system that's accessible, adaptable and with enough volume for extended racing. The Hydration System 2.0 allows the rider to rehydrate without changing position, thanks to a configurable setup that includes a bar-mounted system plus an additional bladder located inside the frame, just above the bottom bracket.
  • STORAGE SYSTEM - Racers need sustenance, and that means having somewhere to store energy gels or bars. Our versatile, modular Storage System puts those extra calories within easy reach of the rider, without having to change position from an aero tuck. Set it up the way that works best for you, and then make use of the extra time you can save by having food close to hand. It's the little things that make the difference…
  • TWIN HEAD TUBE - The Aerium's Twin Head Tube is visually striking, but it's not just about looks. Aerodynamically speaking, it helps reduce air resistance in a straight line for higher speeds. Which, of course, is what it's all about. And, with stronger cross winds, the twin tube profile helps reduce buffeting and increases steering stability. Win, win.
  • AERO OPTIMIZED GEOMETRY - Air sucks, and that's why Aero Optimized Geometry matters. Developed with a combination of wind tunnel testing, Computer Fluid Dynamics and feedback from athletes, it's our way of ensuring you can get the best possible performance out of you and your bike. Stable when you need it, agile when it counts and above all very, very fast.
  • ADVANCED TWIN MOLD - With our Advanced Twin Mold process we use two precisely manufactured forms for our C:62®, C:68® and C:68X® carbon frames. The first form is to ensure an accurate layup. The second, inner form keeps every individual fibre precisely where it needs to be while the frame cures. The result is a significantly lighter, stronger frame, with fibre density tailored to anticipated loadings at specific points.
  • EXTRA STORAGE - Need more hydration or extra space for your kit? The Aerium C:68X has you covered. The compartment above the bottom bracket accomodates an extra hydration bladder, or you can use it carry essential spares like a CO2 cartridge, multitool and spare tube. And it's all fully enclosed and aero…

CUBE is one of Europe's most successful bicycle brands, founded in 1993 by Marcus Pürner in the small Bavarian town of Waldershof in the Fichtel Mountains of Germany. The origin story is modest and very German in its practicality: still a student, Marcus started in a 50-square-metre corner of his father's furniture factory, sourcing frames from Asia and assembling them locally with high-quality components — initially just to fund his university studies. Over three decades that small workshop has grown into one of Europe's largest bicycle producers, with products sold in more than 60 countries and around 1,000 people working under the brand today. Unlike many top-level competitors, CUBE remains an owner-managed family business — Marcus Pürner still leads the brand to this day, which means decisions are made for the long term, not under the pressure of quarterly results for stock-market shareholders. The heart of CUBE is still in Waldershof: the state-of-the-art 35,000-square-metre factory opened in 2016 employs 600 people working two shifts and assembles up to 4,500 bikes per day — making CUBE one of the most productive bicycle assemblers based in Europe. Next door, in the company headquarters, the brand's engineering team handles all frame design, geometry calculation and component selection. Every component goes through a double quality check — once during production and again at CUBE's own test lab, which has dedicated rigs for road and mountain bike testing (for example, frames are loaded with forces equivalent to a sprint). The range is extremely broad — over 400 different models, covering everything from city and kids' bikes to e-bikes, gravel, MTB and full-on professional road racing machines — supported by an in-house clothing and accessories collection. In top-level sport, CUBE is currently the main bike supplier to the Belgian WorldTour team Intermarché–Wanty, and the brand's own action team supports enduro and DH racing as well as triathlon top performers (including multiple Ironman world champion Lucy Charles-Barclay). The CUBE philosophy is simple: solid German engineering at a fair price — "Cube your Life".
