Shimano XTR Di2 M9250 is Shimano's flagship wireless electronic 12-speed shifting upgrade kit, engineered for the most demanding mountain bikers and competitive racers. The kit allows riders to convert an existing mechanical Shimano drivetrain to the advanced Di2 system, delivering lightning-fast shifting, exceptional precision and maximum reliability even in the toughest off-road conditions. It includes the RD-M9250 SGS rear derailleur, SW-M9250-R shift switch, BT-DN320 battery, EC-DN100 charger and SM-CN910-12 chain Quick Link.

The Shimano XTR M9200 series represents the pinnacle of Shimano mountain bike component technology. The next-generation Di2 system combines fully wireless electronic shifting with enhanced durability and extensive customisation options. Developed for intense competitive use, the system ensures fast, accurate and dependable gear changes when every second matters. Electronic control maintains consistent shifting precision even under high pedalling loads.

At the heart of the kit is the Shimano XTR RD-M9250 SGS rear derailleur, featuring the innovative SHIMANO SHADOW ES technology. Its compact, low-profile wedge-shaped construction minimises exposed surfaces and protruding edges, helping the derailleur avoid impacts from rocks, roots and other trail obstacles. The stabiliser unit is seamlessly integrated into the derailleur body, reducing potential snag points and improving durability on technical terrain.

Automatic Impact Recovery is an advanced feature designed to help the derailleur withstand unexpected trail impacts. When struck, the derailleur mechanism can absorb the impact and automatically return to its original operating position. This helps prevent interruptions to shifting performance and allows riders to continue without needing to manually reposition the derailleur.

The derailleur features a wide, reinforced linkage structure, durable carbon plate and protective skid-plate design to withstand aggressive off-road riding. Solid pulley construction helps minimise debris accumulation and improves durability. A new dual-spring chain stabilisation system increases chain tension, improving chain retention and keeping the drivetrain secure on rocky descents and rough trails.

The SGS long-cage RD-M9250 rear derailleur is designed for 1x12 drivetrains and is compatible with 10–51T cassettes and Shimano 12-speed HG chains. Its carbon-based pulley cage construction combines low weight with high stiffness. The derailleur attaches to a conventional derailleur hanger and can also be installed on UDH-standard frames.

The BT-DN320 battery is securely integrated into the rear derailleur body, protecting it against impacts, dirt and moisture. The sealed battery compartment keeps the battery firmly in place even on the roughest trails, while allowing convenient removal for charging. The battery has an energy capacity of 2.32 Wh and a rated capacity of 0.305 Ah. The kit includes an EC-DN100 charger with a USB cable.

The wireless Shimano XTR SW-M9250-R shift switch incorporates RAPID ES technology, providing fast, precise gear selection with a distinct tactile response. Its ergonomic construction offers four-way paddle adjustment, allowing riders to fine-tune the position of the controls to suit their preferred hand position. The separate clamp-band mount allows the shifter to be installed without requiring a brake lever-integrated mounting system.

The electronic controls support multiple shifting modes, including hold-down multi-shift, click-through double shift and locked-out single shift. The shifter also features a programmable third button, which can be customised using the Shimano E-TUBE application. Depending on the compatibility of other system components, this button can be used to control a compatible bike computer or access functions such as FREE SHIFT and AUTO SHIFT.

The fully wireless Di2 architecture simplifies installation and helps keep the cockpit clean and uncluttered. Eliminating mechanical shift cables removes shifting issues caused by cable stretch, contamination and wear. With a compatible existing Shimano 12-speed drivetrain, there is no need to replace the cassette, chain or crankset, making this kit a practical way to upgrade to premium electronic shifting without replacing the entire drivetrain.

Important: the kit does not include a cassette, chain or crankset. Before purchasing, verify compatibility with the existing 12-speed drivetrain, 10–51T cassette and derailleur hanger. FREE SHIFT and AUTO SHIFT functionality depends on the compatibility of other system components.
