Shimano Deore Di2 M6250 is a fully wireless electronic 12-speed shifting upgrade kit designed to convert an existing mechanical Shimano mountain bike drivetrain to the advanced Di2 system. The kit includes the essential components required for electronic rear shifting: RD-M6250 rear derailleur, SW-M6250-R shift switch, BT-DN320 battery and EC-DN100 charger. It is an excellent solution for upgrading an existing mountain bike or building a new bike with reliable electronic shifting.

The Deore M6200/M6250 series brings advanced technologies previously associated with Shimano's flagship XTR and Deore XT groupsets to a wider range of riders. The latest-generation Di2 system combines fast, precise and intuitive electronic shifting with completely wireless control. Gear changes remain accurate even under demanding pedalling loads, providing consistent performance on technical mountain bike trails, steep climbs and challenging terrain.

At the heart of the kit is the Shimano Deore RD-M6250 SGS rear derailleur, featuring Shadow ES technology. The long-cage SGS version is designed for 12-speed drivetrains with a 10–51T cassette. The derailleur mounts to a conventional derailleur hanger and is also compatible with UDH-standard frames, allowing the existing drivetrain to be upgraded without requiring a dedicated direct-mount frame interface.

The wireless Shimano SW-M6250-R shift switch incorporates Rapid ES technology for quick and intuitive gear selection with minimal finger movement. The shifter uses a separate handlebar clamp-band mount, eliminating the need for a brake lever-integrated mounting system. Wireless operation also reduces cable clutter around the handlebar, providing a cleaner and more organised cockpit.

One of the key advantages of electronic shifting is the elimination of mechanical shift cables. There are no conventional cables to stretch, become contaminated or gradually affect shifting precision. The wireless architecture simplifies installation and reduces the maintenance associated with mechanical shift cable systems.

The rear derailleur is powered by a Shimano BT-DN320 battery with an energy capacity of 2.32 Wh and a rated capacity of 0.305 Ah. The kit includes an EC-DN100 charger with a USB cable for convenient charging. A Shimano SM-CN910-12 Quick Link, designed for the CN-M9100-12 chain, is also included.

The upgrade kit is intended for mountain bikes equipped with a Shimano 12-speed HG chain and a 10–51T cassette. With a compatible existing drivetrain, there is no need to replace the cassette, chain or crankset. This makes the Deore Di2 M6250 kit a practical and cost-effective way to upgrade to electronic shifting without replacing the complete drivetrain.
