Road Cycling Shoes Northwave VELOCE EXTREME

The Northwave VELOCE EXTREME road cycling shoes are a race-level model developed entirely in Italy with the support of Olympic champion and Hour Record holder Filippo Ganna. They are designed for riders who demand maximum efficiency, where every second, watt and pedal stroke contributes to performance.

The PowerShape HT outsole is made from 100% unidirectional carbon and has a stiffness index of 15. Its highly rigid structure minimises energy loss and transfers power efficiently to the pedals. The exclusive asymmetric High Tail heel structure adapts to the outside of the heel while supporting the inner heel for improved stability during powerful accelerations and sprints.

The patented Powershape system provides anatomical arch support, improving comfort and helping maintain an optimal foot position throughout the pedal stroke. According to Northwave’s comparative data, the Powershape sole delivers 9% greater stability, 15% lower perceived exertion and up to 4% higher maximum power output while reducing muscular engagement.

The new and lighter Anatomic Reticular Support 2.0 technology wraps the foot in a supportive structure and helps maintain correct positioning throughout the ride. Working together with the PowerShape HT outsole, it improves power transfer and reduces unwanted movement inside the shoe.

The underlap upper construction wraps evenly around the foot to provide a close, secure and comfortable fit. The heel lining uses oriented fibres to increase grip and prevent the foot from slipping out of the shoe during intense pedalling and high-cadence efforts.

Two SLW3 micrometric dials developed by X-Dial allow independent adjustment across two fit zones. The compact and lightweight mechanism provides fast, accurate tightening, making it easy to customise the fit according to foot shape and riding conditions.

Laser-cut perforations and large ventilation openings maximise airflow and improve thermoregulation during demanding training sessions and hot-weather racing. Replaceable rubber heel pads help extend the usable life of the shoes.

Two dual-density footbeds are included to further customise the internal volume. The 5 mm footbed provides a slimmer fit, while the 3 mm version creates a regular fit.
