The Shimano Deore RD-M6200 SGS is a robust mechanical 12-speed rear derailleur developed for demanding mountain biking. The new-generation DEORE M7200/M6200 family combines Shimano's proven reliability with fast cable-operated shifting and technologies derived from higher-level Shimano MTB components.
SHIMANO SHADOW ES construction gives the derailleur a low and compact profile, reducing its forward-facing surface and minimising potential contact points with rocks, roots and other trail obstacles. The wedge-shaped chain stabiliser helps obstacles deflect around the derailleur, while the robust construction is designed to return to its original position after an impact without compromising shifting performance.
A new dual-spring chain stabilisation system increases spring tension by 70%, improving chain retention and reducing unwanted chain movement on rough terrain. Wide joint structures, solid derailleur pulleys and a steel derailleur cage increase durability while helping to reduce dirt ingress into the moving components.
HYPERGLIDE+ technology delivers fast and smooth shifting even under load. With its long SGS cage, the derailleur is designed for 1x12-speed drivetrains and is compatible with 12-speed 10-51T cassettes.
