Shimano Deore XT PD-M8220 are next-generation high-performance SPD pedals engineered for demanding trail, all-mountain and enduro riding. Combining excellent stability, secure grip and fast engagement, they provide riders with confidence and control on steep descents, technical trails and unpredictable terrain. Their refined construction incorporates design elements inspired by Shimano's premium XTR trail pedals.
The wider pedal platform and robust outer cage provide increased shoe contact and greater stability on challenging terrain. The optimised design helps maintain a secure connection between shoe and pedal even when the rider is not clipped into the SPD mechanism. Four adjustable traction pins improve grip and foot stability, offering additional control through rocky sections, loose corners and technical descents.
The double-sided Shimano SPD binding system allows riders to clip in from either side of the pedal. The PD-M8220 is optimised for Shimano's new CL-MT001 cleats, which support multi-directional entry for quicker and more natural engagement from different angles. This is particularly useful on technical trails, where riders frequently need to unclip and re-engage while navigating demanding obstacles.
The durable anodised aluminium pedal body and strong chromoly steel axle are built to withstand aggressive off-road riding.
