Multitool SKS MIA 12

Multitool SKS MIA 12

The SKS MIA 12 is a lightweight, compact and versatile bicycle multitool featuring 12 essential functions, specifically designed for performance-oriented cyclists who value reliability, minimal weight and practical functionality. MIA, short for Mini Assistant, is a dependable companion for dealing with unexpected mechanical issues and performing minor maintenance or adjustment tasks during a ride. Thanks to its compact construction, the tool fits easily into a cycling jersey pocket, saddle bag or other small storage compartment without adding significant weight to your cycling equipment.

The 12 carefully selected tool functions are designed to meet the most common fastening standards found on modern bicycles. The MIA 12 includes seven hex keys in sizes 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 8 mm, two Torx keys (T10 and T25) and a flathead screwdriver. These tools can be used for adjusting handlebars, seatposts and other components, tightening loose bolts and performing a variety of minor roadside repairs. The extensive selection of key sizes makes the multitool practical for everyday training sessions and longer road or gravel rides.

Unlike more basic multitools, the SKS MIA 12 features an integrated chain tool compatible with 7–13-speed chains. This makes it possible to open a chain, remove a damaged chain link or perform other minor chain repairs when necessary. The chain tool is particularly valuable during longer cycling adventures and training sessions, where an unexpected chain problem could otherwise bring a ride to an early end.

The multitool also includes a 15G spoke wrench, allowing riders to adjust the tension of compatible spokes and perform minor wheel truing when required. This additional function further increases the tool's versatility and provides more options for handling unexpected mechanical issues without carrying separate tools.

All tools are manufactured from high-quality chrome vanadium steel, delivering excellent strength, wear resistance and precise engagement with bolt heads. The robust material withstands repeated use while maintaining dependable performance and accuracy over time. This is particularly important during performance-focused cycling, where tools need to be ready for quick, reliable repairs whenever required.

The forged aluminium housing combines minimal weight with impressive durability. Rounded edges provide comfortable handling, while the textured side panels improve grip and allow the multitool to be held securely during use. Its ergonomic construction also supports precise tool operation in confined spaces, making maintenance and adjustment tasks more convenient.

Despite offering 12 different functions, the SKS MIA 12 weighs just 96 grams. Its compact dimensions of 56 x 37 x 13 mm allow it to be stored easily in even a small saddle bag or cycling jersey pocket. The black finish and minimalist design give the multitool a clean, high-quality appearance that complements its durable and practical construction.

The SKS MIA 12 is an excellent choice for road and gravel cyclists seeking a comprehensive selection of tools in a lightweight, compact package. Compared with the smaller MIA 8 model, the MIA 12 adds a T10 Torx key, flathead screwdriver, 15G spoke wrench and chain tool. These additional functions make it particularly suitable for longer training sessions and cycling adventures where having a more versatile tool selection provides extra peace of mind.
