The Northwave EXTREME XCM 3 mountain bike shoes are designed primarily for long-distance MTB marathons, where footwear must combine efficient power transfer, reliable support, effective ventilation and adaptability across varied terrain. Weighing approximately 339 grams in size 42, they help reduce fatigue during long climbs, fast sections and technical descents.

The Carbon XC 12 outsole features a full-carbon insert in the pedal area and has a stiffness index of 12/15. This construction delivers efficient power transfer while retaining the practicality required for marathon riding. Strategically positioned TPU inserts provide high traction and excellent abrasion resistance when walking or negotiating technical trail sections.

The patented XFrame 2® upper construction wraps the foot closely and evenly without creating uncomfortable pressure points. It helps transfer every watt of power efficiently through the pedal stroke. The redesigned overlap improves fit and control on the pedals, while the perforated upper provides optimal ventilation and allows excess heat to escape.

Two SLW3 dials allow pressure over the instep and forefoot to be adjusted independently with millimetre precision. The SLW3 system combines gradual step-by-step release and instant full opening in a single button, making adjustments fast and intuitive even while riding.

Highly abrasion-resistant rubber reinforcements provide 360° protection around the entire upper against rocks, branches and trail-related wear. The integrated heel system uses directional fibres to hold the heel securely in place and prevent slipping. A seamless heel design improves comfort and creates a close second-skin feel.

The Performance Regular footbed provides additional support and helps maintain a stable foot position over long distances. The EXTREME XCM 3 is a versatile performance shoe for riders who need dependable efficiency on difficult climbs, fast descents and continuously changing marathon terrain.
