The Shimano BR-R317 is a dependable and easy-to-adjust mechanical disc brake caliper designed for road and trekking bikes. Its cable-actuated system provides direct braking feel and allows for straightforward maintenance without the need for hydraulic servicing tools.

Compared to the previous BR-R505 model, the BR-R317 features a more compact and lower-profile design, improving frame compatibility and giving the bike a cleaner appearance. The single-piston construction delivers consistent and reliable braking performance for daily commuting, fitness rides and touring.

Designed for rear installation with a Post Mount interface, the BR-R317 uses G01S Resin brake pads for quiet operation and smooth modulation. It is recommended for use with Shimano ST-3500, BL-3500, ST-2400 or BL-2400 brake levers and SM-RT54 (160 mm) or SM-RT81 (140 mm) rotors.
