REX Pro Wax Heater is a professional hot-waxing device for bicycle chains, designed to make chain maintenance faster, cleaner and more consistent. Together with Rex Black Diamond hot wax, it forms a complete waxing system suitable for home workshops, professional bike shops and cycling clubs. The large 1.5-liter wax container holds a full 480 g pack of Rex Black Diamond hot wax and provides enough capacity to process multiple chains at the same time.

The durable metal construction is designed for regular use, while the 150 W heating element melts and maintains the wax at a controlled temperature. The operating temperature can be adjusted between 35 and 125°C. By default, the heater brings the wax to 75°C, while the + and − buttons allow manual temperature adjustment. The dedicated BOOST mode heats the device at maximum power to 125°C and is also required when using the Rex Transformer additive.

In BOOST mode, a complete 480 g pack of Rex Black Diamond hot wax melts in approximately 30 minutes. Once the heater reaches 125°C, it emits three audible signals and then automatically begins cooling to 75°C, where it maintains the temperature. This controlled process makes hot waxing more consistent and convenient when treating both new and previously waxed chains.

The heater is supplied with the necessary tools for handling the chain. The hanging handles can be connected using the included hand-tightened screw to form chain pliers for removing and installing the chain. The hanging handle also doubles as a bottle opener. The chain is threaded onto the supplied wire, with the other end connected to the hanging handle. This makes it easy to agitate the chain in the molten wax and then move it to the hanging rack, allowing excess wax to drip back into the container.

For a new chain, the factory lubricant must either be removed with Rex Chain Cleaner or, alternatively, one Rex Transformer block can be used for each new chain. BOOST mode must always be used with Transformer. If a chain has already been waxed with Rex waxes, wiping or rinsing it with hot water is generally sufficient before rewaxing. A chain previously treated with any liquid lubricant must be completely cleaned before hot waxing, and no water should be allowed to enter the wax container with the chain.

Once the wax is fully melted, the chain can be thoroughly agitated by rotating the wire handle in both directions. After waxing, the chain is lifted onto the hanging rack to cool while excess wax drips back into the container. The chain can be removed from the wax either above 100°C or at 75°C. The wax itself can be reused – simply switch the heater off, allow the wax to cool inside the device and remelt it for the next waxing session.

The wax should be replaced periodically, as sand and dirt accumulating in the bath can reduce its lubrication performance. Once fully cooled, the wax block can be removed according to the operating instructions by turning the cold heater upside down and gently warming the edges of the container until the solid wax releases as one piece. Never turn the device upside down while it is hot or while the wax may be partially melted. The REX Pro Wax Heater is intended for indoor use only.
