The SHIMANO DU-EP600 is a 2nd generation e-bike mid-drive motor designed to deliver evolved e-MTB performance, a natural ride feel and excellent value. With 250 W continuous rated power and 85 N·m maximum torque, it provides strong and well-controlled pedal assistance for steep climbs, technical trail sections and longer off-road rides.
This updated version of the DU-EP600 offers expanded system connectivity and improved compatibility with modern SHIMANO e-bike components. CAN and ACC ports extend the system’s capabilities, making the drive unit more versatile and easier to integrate into different e-bike platforms.
The motor delivers natural and refined assist power, helping the bike remain predictable and easy to control on changing terrain. Its light, quiet and more compact construction creates a smooth and confident ride feel, while low pedalling drag is kept at the same level as the SHIMANO DU-EP801.
85 N·m of maximum torque provides powerful support when the trail becomes steep or technical. The lightweight aluminum body helps keep the motor weight at approximately 3.0 kg, offering a strong balance of durability, performance and handling. This makes the DU-EP600 a suitable choice for e-MTB bikes where power, reliability and natural pedal feel are important.
E-TUBE PROJECT gives riders more control over motor behaviour. New customization options and Finetune Mode make it possible to adjust assist delivery according to riding style, terrain and preferred ride feel. The motor can be tuned for smoother, more efficient or more powerful trail performance.
The DU-EP600 is compatible only with SHIMANO’s second-generation battery management system. This ensures modern system logic and compatibility with the 2nd generation SHIMANO e-bike platform.
