Disc Brake Mount Facing Tool Park Tool DT-4 Post Mount

The Park Tool DT-4 is a precision professional tool for accurately facing frame- and fork-mounted Post Mount disc brake tabs. It is engineered to machine the posts parallel with each other, perpendicular to the rotor and to an equal height.

Correctly faced brake mounts help ensure accurate caliper alignment, reduce unwanted rotor and pad rub, and improve overall disc brake performance. The DT-4 is designed for workshop use and is compatible with a wide range of frame and fork configurations, including standard open dropout axles and thru-axle systems.

The tool includes an axle for 135 mm spacing frames with standard 10 mm axles and open dropouts, and also works with 130 mm spacing. It also includes an axle for 100 mm spacing frames with standard 9 mm axles and open dropouts. For 12 mm thru-axle frames, the included spacer is used together with the frame’s axle. For 15 mm thru-axle forks, the included spacer is used with the fork’s axle, while 20 mm thru-axle forks use the DT-4 body directly with no spacer required.

The DT-4 includes two parallelism gauges for accurately adjusting the cutting tool. Cutting fluid, such as Park Tool CF-2, should always be used when machining to ensure clean cutting performance and help protect the tool.
