The Shimano Deore BR-M6200/BL-M6200 is a new-generation hydraulic disc brake set combining powerful, precisely controlled braking performance with ergonomic design and outstanding reliability. Incorporating technologies derived from Shimano's flagship XTR and Deore XT groupsets, the system delivers a consistent lever feel and excellent modulation on technical mountain bike trails, long descents and in changing weather conditions. The set combines the BL-M6200 two-finger brake lever with the BR-M6200 two-piston brake caliper, providing a lightweight and efficient braking solution particularly well suited to XC and mountain biking.

Featuring Shimano SERVO WAVE technology, the brake lever brings the pads into contact with the rotor quickly before delivering a smooth and precisely controllable increase in braking force. This allows riders to modulate braking power more accurately and maintain confident handling even in demanding riding conditions. Combined with the redesigned brake caliper, the system ensures consistent piston return and dependable braking performance, including during prolonged descents.

A key improvement in the latest generation braking system is Shimano's specially formulated SM-LV-OIL low-viscosity mineral oil. Working together with redesigned seals, it ensures smooth fluid flow and consistent braking characteristics in both hot and cold conditions. This helps maintain a predictable engagement point and stable braking power regardless of temperature or terrain.

The BR-M6200 two-piston brake caliper is engineered to provide an excellent balance of low weight, braking power and precise modulation. Redesigned brake pads and an oval mounting structure help minimise unwanted vibration and pad rattling. The caliper supports both resin and metal brake pads, with or without cooling fins, allowing riders to fine-tune braking characteristics according to their riding style and conditions. The brake set is supplied with resin pads without cooling fins.

The forged aluminium BL-M6200 brake lever combines durability with an ergonomically optimised shape. Its two-finger design provides powerful braking with minimal hand effort, while tool-adjustable reach allows riders to customise the lever position according to hand size and personal preference. The open handlebar clamp simplifies installation, and revised brake hose routing contributes to a cleaner cockpit. The I-Spec EV mounting system allows compatible shift levers to be mounted directly to the brake lever assembly, reducing the need for additional handlebar clamps.

The Shimano Deore BR-M6200/BL-M6200 brake set is available in two versions: front and rear. The front brake set features a left-hand brake lever and a 1000 mm brake hose, while the rear brake set features a right-hand brake lever and a 1700 mm brake hose. Both brake hoses can be shortened if required, allowing the system to be adapted to the bicycle for a clean and precise installation.
