The Shimano 105 BR-R7170 is a next-generation 2-piston hydraulic road disc brake caliper designed for front wheel installation with a Flat Mount interface. It delivers an outstanding combination of braking power and controllability for both racing and endurance road riding.

Its low-profile Flat Mount design integrates seamlessly with modern road frames, offering a clean and compact appearance. Compared to previous models, the BR-R7170 is lighter and more compact, featuring 10% wider pad clearance to reduce rotor rub, ensure quiet operation and allow easier wheel removal.

Equipped with L05A-RF Resin brake pads with cooling fins, the caliper improves heat dissipation and maintains consistent braking performance on long descents. Shimano’s One-Way Bleeding system ensures simple and clean maintenance, and the system runs on Shimano mineral oil for reliable operation.
