Shimano CL-SL100 SPD-SLR are next-generation road cycling cleats designed to deliver maximum stability, precise power transfer and a secure connection between cycling shoes and pedals. Featuring 0° of float, the red cleats provide a completely fixed foot position without lateral rotational movement when engaged. This configuration is particularly suitable for experienced road cyclists and competitive riders who prefer the most direct and stable pedalling connection possible.
The new Shimano SPD-SLR interface has been developed as an integrated platform, with pedals, cleats and cycling shoes engineered to function together as a complete system. Shimano has optimised every power transfer contact point to minimise unnecessary movement while improving pedalling stability and efficiency. Compared with the previous SPD-SL system, the redesigned pedal and cleat interface provides a 2.3 mm lower stack height, bringing the foot closer to the pedal axle. This creates a more stable pedalling platform and supports more efficient power transfer.
The cleats feature an extra-wide contact platform and low-profile construction, providing excellent foot support and a secure connection to the pedal. The SPD-SLR interface minimises unwanted play between the pedal and cleat, improving stability during intense efforts, sprints and climbs. The fixed position of the CL-SL100 reduces unnecessary foot movement and provides an exceptionally direct pedalling feel. Because these cleats offer no float, accurate cleat positioning is particularly important.
Faster and easier clip-in is another major improvement of the SPD-SLR platform. A larger engagement area and a reduced 10.5° clip-in angle, compared with 15.5° on the previous SPD-SL system, allow riders to engage the pedals more naturally and quickly. This is particularly beneficial when accelerating from a stop, exiting corners or responding to changes in race pace.
The newly developed SPD-SLR cleats are up to 22% lighter than their SPD-SL predecessors, while maintaining the durability expected from Shimano's race-proven road cycling components. High-contrast positioning markings simplify initial installation and allow riders to accurately reproduce their preferred cleat position when replacing worn cleats.
Shimano CL-SL100 cleats are compatible with Dura-Ace PD-R9300 and Ultegra PD-R8200 SPD-SLR pedals. Manufactured from durable plastic, they feature a distinctive black and red colour combination.
Important: Shimano SPD-SLR is a new pedal and cleat interface. SPD-SLR cleats are not compatible with previous SPD-SL pedals, and SPD-SL cleats cannot be used with SPD-SLR pedals. Always verify pedal system compatibility before purchasing.
