EcoProTeQ EPT

KMC’s non-toxic, eco-friendly EcoProTeQ (EPT) technology provides outstanding corrosion resistance — the first signs of rust appear only after a 650-hour salt-spray test. This doubles durability versus conventional coatings and sets new standards.

Advice

Derailleur drivetrains must withstand weather and sustained loads while shifting smoothly and quietly. Modern materials, coatings and design refinements (e.g. x-Bridge) deliver long service life with regular care. Check your chain and its elongation with a gauge at regular intervals.

Wear depends heavily on usage and shifting habits. A worn chain accelerates wear of other — usually more expensive — components (front and rear cogs, jockey wheels). To prevent excessive wear and preserve shifting quality, clean and maintain the chain regularly and replace it in time.
