The Shimano BR-MT420 is a powerful and reliable 4-piston hydraulic disc brake caliper designed for mountain biking and demanding trail riding, where consistent braking power and precise modulation are essential. The four-piston design ensures even pressure distribution across the brake pads, delivering strong stopping performance and improved control on steep and technical descents.
Featuring a Post Mount interface, this caliper can be installed on both the front or rear wheel, offering flexibility for various frame and fork standards. The included D03S Resin brake pads provide quiet operation and smooth braking modulation, making them ideal for everyday trail and MTB use.
Shimano’s One-Way Bleeding system simplifies maintenance and helps maintain consistent brake performance. The system uses Shimano mineral oil for stable operation across a wide temperature range. The BR-MT420 is compatible with Shimano BL-MT401 and BL-MT420-3A brake levers and is optimized for use with the SM-BH90-SS brake hose.
