The SHIMANO STEPS DU-E6100 is a 1st generation e-bike mid-drive motor designed for natural, efficient and comfortable everyday riding. With 250 W continuous rated power and 60 N·m maximum torque, it provides confident support for city riding, cycle paths and longer trekking or fitness rides.

The motor combines an integrated drivetrain and assist system, delivering smooth power support and efficient battery consumption. Improved energy efficiency helps increase riding range, while E-TUBE PROJECT allows the maximum assist speed to be adjusted between 15–25 km/h when using the COMFORT assist riding characteristic.

When used with a SHIMANO Di2 internal geared hub, the DU-E6100 supports full-automatic shifting for a more natural riding experience and less need to focus on gear changes. SYMPHOMATIC technology helps coordinate pedalling and shifting, creating a comfortable and consistent ride feel.

The compact and lightweight construction helps maintain balanced handling. A shorter rear center improves responsiveness and maneuverability, while the narrow and symmetrical Q-factor creates an optimized pedalling environment. The cable terminal is easy to access without removing the chainring or chain case.

The DU-E6100 is compatible with V-brake, roller brake and disc brake systems. It provides 12 V DC power supply outputs for both front and rear lights, E-TUBE communication, firmware update support via E-TUBE PROJECT and the Safe Way Home function. It also includes walk assist, torque sensor, crank arm position sensor, cadence sensor and bike speed sensor support.
