The Maxxis Assegai is a top-tier aggressive mountain bike tire built to deliver maximum grip in all conditions. Named after World Cup champion Greg Minnaar, it is designed for the most demanding trails and riding styles.

The aggressive, densely packed tread pattern provides exceptional traction in both dry and wet conditions. Carefully designed knob placement ensures confident control during cornering, braking, and acceleration.

The 3C MaxxGrip compound is Maxxis’ softest and most grippy rubber, delivering maximum traction and is the preferred choice for downhill and enduro racing.

The Downhill (DH) casing features a dual-ply construction for extreme durability and impact resistance. An integrated butyl insert helps prevent pinch flats and protects the rim from hard impacts.

The Wide Trail (WT) design is optimized for 30–35 mm internal rim widths, improving tire profile and stability. The Tubeless Ready (TR) system allows lower pressures for better traction and reduced puncture risk.

The Assegai can be used front and rear for maximum grip or as a front tire paired with a faster-rolling rear tire for a balanced setup.
