MTB Shoes Northwave EXTREME XC

The Northwave EXTREME XC mountain bike shoes are designed for race-level cross-country riding, where low weight, maximum power transfer and a precise fit are essential. Weighing approximately 312 grams per shoe, they combine a stiff carbon outsole, supportive upper construction and effective ventilation for fast training sessions and demanding competition.

The Hyperlight Michelin XC outsole is made from 100% unidirectional carbon fibre and has a stiffness index of 14/15. Its highly rigid construction transfers pedalling power efficiently to the pedals. Michelin rubber inserts with dual-layer compound technology are 28% more abrasion-resistant than TPU and provide excellent grip with minimal additional weight.

The patented XFrame 2® upper construction wraps the foot closely and evenly without creating uncomfortable pressure points. It helps transfer every watt of power during pedalling, while the redesigned overlap structure improves fit and control on the pedals.

Two SLW3 dials allow the pressure over the instep and forefoot to be adjusted independently with millimetre precision. The SLW3 system enables fast tightening, gradual step-by-step release by pressing the button and instant full opening by lifting the dial.

Ultra-thin, highly abrasion-resistant reinforcements provide 360° protection around the upper. The integrated heel system with directional fibres keeps the heel securely positioned and helps prevent slipping. A seamless heel design improves comfort and creates a close second-skin feel.

The Pro Regular Fit footbed uses a stiffened dual-density construction to support the foot and improve power transfer. The perforated upper provides optimal ventilation and allows excess heat to escape during high-intensity riding and in warm conditions.
