The Shimano STEPS EW-SS300 is a compact and reliable speed sensor for the Shimano STEPS EP8 EP800 e-bike system. It is designed to measure wheel speed accurately and consistently, helping the drive unit deliver natural, smooth and precisely timed assistance while riding.

The EW-SS300 is updated with the newer EW-SD300 electric wire, making it suitable for Shimano’s latest-generation STEPS component platform. Its low-profile design integrates cleanly around the frame, while the chainstay mounting position helps leave more space for wider tires.

This sensor is designed to work with all brake options available for Shimano STEPS e-bike systems. Its robust construction makes it well suited for e-MTB use, including rough trails where dependable performance, secure mounting and accurate speed detection are essential. A spoke magnet set is included for proper sensor function.
