Fischer SPEEDMAX 80 SKATE PLUS 115 skate skis
The Fischer Speedmax 80 Skate Plus 115 is a lightweight race-oriented skate ski designed for ambitious amateur athletes. Featuring the proven Air Core Carbon construction, this ski offers exceptional torsional stiffness and an extremely low weight. The model incorporates Fischer’s innovative Cold Base Bonding process, which preserves the original molecular structure of the base material, enabling optimal wax absorption, superior grindability and maximum speed on snow.
The Skating 115 construction utilizes a special camber profile with more widely spaced contact areas. This results in added stability and a more powerful kick on hard-packed and icy conditions, giving the skier improved control and efficiency during the glide phase.
To protect the base during storage and transportation, the skis are delivered with a thin protective layer of hot wax applied after the first grinding. This coating must be removed before the first use by scraping in the direction of travel with a sharp plexiglass scraper under light, even pressure, followed by thorough brushing with a nylon or combi brush until the structure is completely clean.
The DTG World Cup Plus base structure is produced using natural diamond for precision and durability. It features a deeper and coarser profile ideal for warm and moist snow conditions. This advanced structure ensures optimal glide when temperatures fluctuate around freezing.
Finish First is Fischer’s comprehensive finishing protocol that unites all individual processing steps involved in producing the final base surface. Each stage contributes to improved glide performance and consistency.
The skis come Prewaxed with a protective fluor-free base wax from VAUHTI. This treatment shields the base from dirt and oxidation. Before skiing, the base wax should be ironed in again, cooled and brushed out thoroughly. After this, the ski can be waxed with the appropriate paraffin or liquid wax for the snow conditions.
The Precision Pairing System relies on fully automatic dynamic measurements that ensure perfect matching of flex and camber across a pair. This guarantees predictable performance and identical ski behavior on snow.
Computer Flex Control (CFC) minimises differences in camber pressure and residual tension, providing consistent kick and glide characteristics ideal for performance-oriented skiers.
The Sidecut World Cup Skate design features an arrow-shaped geometry optimized for dynamic acceleration and precise control, especially in the 1:1 skating technique. The Skating 115 design ensures more contact surface and minimal tip and tail splay, enhancing stability on hard snow.
Cold Base Bonding is Fischer’s patented manufacturing method where the base is attached to the ski without the use of heat and pressure. This maintains the uniformity of the original molecular structure, enabling superior wax uptake for maximum glide.
The Air Core Carbon structure remains Fischer’s most successful ski core design, consisting of more than 80% air for extremely low weight and outstanding break resistance.
With the newly engineered World Cup Tip, the shortened and lowered front section reduces swingweight and improves agility, enhancing control during high-speed skating.
