E-Bike Motor SHIMANO DU-E7000 1st Generation

The SHIMANO DU-E7000 is a 1st generation e-bike mid-drive motor designed especially for e-MTB use, trail riding and tours in hilly or mountainous terrain. With 250 W continuous rated power and 60 N·m maximum torque, it delivers powerful yet smooth and controllable assistance, helping more riders enjoy mountain trails, scenery and new climbs.

The compact drive unit allows frame designs with a shorter chain stay and provides more clearance around the suspension and tire. This supports better bike handling on technical trail sections and helps create a more balanced ride feel for electric mountain bikes.

With an approximate weight of 2.7 kg, the DU-E7000 is lighter than the DU-E6002. Its lightweight construction helps preserve a natural ride feel and improves handling on climbs, descents and narrow trails with changing terrain.

The DU-E7000 delivers stable, quiet and intuitive power assistance, helping the bike remain easy to control over every section of trail. A direct pedalling feel is maintained both with assist power on and off, making the ride experience more natural and confidence-inspiring.

The motor is durable and weather-resistant for riding in varied conditions. Water and mud resistance help maintain stable assist power when trails become wet, soft or technical. Its quiet motor operation lets riders enjoy the trail without unnecessary distraction.

The DU-E7000 supports Walk, Eco, Trail and Boost assist modes. All assist modes can be customized through the E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist app, allowing riders to adjust motor behaviour according to riding style, terrain and personal preference. The drive unit uses the same frame mount as the DU-E8000.
