The Urban Taraxagum by Continental is the first serial bicycle tire made from dandelion rubber, for which we established the brand Taraxagum. The project is embedded in a comprehensive sustainability strategy, covering economic, ecological and social aspects. Through significantly shorter distances from the fields and our European tire plants we reduce efforts in logistics and transport and use resources more efficiently.

Vectran Breaker. 

Vectran™ is spun from liquid crystal-polymer. This way a thermoplastic, multiple-thread yarn is created. As a comparison: This partially crystalline fabric is more cut-resistant than aramide and its tensile strength is five times higher than that of steel. A Vectran™ Breaker is lighter, more flexible and effective against cuts than a comparable nylon breaker. Without affecting rolling resistance.
